Ammonite Nautilus specifications

The Ammonite System is modular

Due to the modular design concept, you can configure your umbilical light set according to your needs.

All Ammonite umbilical lights, cables, standard batteries and heating batteries are equipped with the same chinch-type connector. So when one of the parts wears out, or you would want to upgrade it, there are no obstacles.

Modularity also affects the convenience of use and safety. For example, you can change the broken cable for a new one on the diving spot without sending it to the service centre.

Ammonite LED Nautilus burn-times

Ammonite System LED Nautilus light head burn times vary, primarily depending on the battery you will be using and the power setting. Burn times are also influenced by battery health (charge, discharge cycles and age) and ambient water temperature.

The chart below is based on the 9, 10, 14 and 24Ah battery sets that can be purchased with the light head all-inclusive in the Ammonite Nautilus Focusable Light Kit.

Ammonite Nautilus burn times

Nautilus is One Of A Kind

As an experienced diver, you know perfectly how difficult it is to find a bright, durable, lightweight dive light that works reliably in almost every condition.

The Ammonite Nautilus light head utilises the latest Cree CXB LED chip with a Fresnel lens that allows you to make the most out of the impressive 4000-lumen output. You can smoothly adjust the light beam to be as narrow as 9º or as wide as 45º.

Three Light Levels

LED Nautilus features three light levels: BOOST, OPERATIONAL, and BACK-UP, to preserve battery life and adjust brightness levels to eliminate backscatter in murky water. The burn time of the light will depend on what level one has chosen.

Durable and Compact

The smooth and compact design of the Ammonite Nautilus light head is perfectly balanced, making it easy to operate with or without a Goodman Handle.

All these features are packed into a relatively small housing that measures only 140mm in length and 60mm in diameter. Despite its exceptional durability, the Nautilus lighthead weighs 415g and 150g underwater. Constructed from marine-grade aluminium alloy and covered with a hard anodised finish, the Ammonite Nautilus light head is resistant to corrosion and mechanical scratches.

The 5mm front glass is made of highly fatigue-resistant tempered glass. The Nautilus lighthead has been extensively tested and can safely operate at depths of up to 150m. Easy-to-use switch knobs are made from lightweight yet extremely tough and corrosion-resistant polymer (Delrin®).

Take Me Home mode

The inner microchip system signals a low battery level with a strobe flash. When drained, the battery automatically switches to the “Take me home” mode (light output at 20% light intensity).

"Take me home" is a backup mode to which Ammonite umbilical lights switch when the battery is drained. Light will continue operating for at least 1 hour or more depending on the light and used battery. Light will only work in "take me home" mode until the battery is recharged.
