Apeks O2 Clean XTX40 Regulator with Flexi Hose
This Apeks O2 Clean XTX40 Regulator set includes the XTX40 second stage, along with the Apeks DS4 first stage. It also features a DIN M25 fitting and a 29" Apeks Flexi Hose. Green and yellow cosmetic pieces clearly identify this regulator for high-percentage oxygen use.
The compact DS4 first stage has four medium-pressure ports. Additionally, it includes one high-pressure port. This first stage does not feature the rotating turret. You'll find this turret on the DST first stage.
This regulator features an innovative Diver Changeable Exhaust system (DCE). This system allows divers to change from a small to a large exhaust tee. Consequently, divers choose a wider exhaust tee for minimal bubble interference. This is essential for underwater photography.
Alternatively, they can select a narrow exhaust tee for a smaller, comfortable regulator. Only the narrow exhaust tee is supplied with the regulator. Furthermore, a braided flexi-hose comes standard. These hoses are lighter, more flexible, and more durable.
Finally, Apeks O2 Clean XTX40 Regulator is suitable for cold water use (below 10C / 50F). It is also suitable for use with up to 100% oxygen.
O2 clean DS4 First Stage
The DS4 first stage has a unique over-balanced diaphragm design. As the diver descends, this over-balancing feature increases the medium-pressure gas. The gas in the hose increases faster than the ambient pressure. As a result, this provides superior performance at depth.
Two HP ports and four MP ports are angled for optimum hose routing. An environmental dry system keeps water out of the main spring chamber. This prevents ice buildup. It also keeps silt and contamination out.
O2 clean XTX40 Second Stage
The pneumatically balanced second stage provides smooth, easy breathing. The XTX purge buttons are large and easy to operate. A two-stage progressive purge is used. Press the side for a lower flow rate. This is useful for controlling inflation. For example, it is helpful when filling lift bags. Then, press the center for the full purge effect. This is ideal for regulator clearing.
The large venturi lever has a soft-touch rubber grip. This makes it easier to locate and use. The lever reduces grit ingress. Therefore, it resists friction for smooth operation. An easy-to-grip opening effort control knob keeps the diver in control.
The second stage is manufactured with active protection against infection. All molded parts contain an additive. This additive kills MRSA. It also protects against E-Coli, bacteria, and fungi. Furthermore, it is effective against viruses, mold, yeast, and algae.
A silicone exhaust valve improves breathing performance. The Comfobite mouthpiece virtually eliminates jaw fatigue. A patented heat exchanger surrounds the valve mechanism. This dissipates the cold caused by gas expansion. Simultaneously, it draws in the warmth of the ambient water.
