Apeks WTX Single Tank Wing System - WTX-D30 or WTX-D40

The Apeks single tank wing with backplate and harness is now available as a fully set-up Apeks WTX Single Tank Wing System, all ready to go.

You have two backplate and wing options. Choose from stainless steel or a lighter aluminium backplate. For these fully set up systems, Apeks offers either WTX-D40 wing providing 40lbs lift or the smaller WTX-D30 with 30lbs lift.

Backplate and Wing Options

First, consider your backplate preference. The stainless steel option offers rugged durability. It is ideal for more demanding dives. Second, the aluminium backplate provides a lighter-weight alternative. This is great for travel.

Next, select your wing size. The WTX-D40 is suitable for most divers. It offers ample lift. However, the WTX-D30 is a good choice for smaller divers. It is also suitable for warmer water diving. Finally, this system is designed for single-tank configurations.

Fully assembled system includes

  • Apeks WTX-D40 or WTX-D30 wing with inflator hose
  • Apeks stainless steel or aluminium backplate
  • Apeks Deluxe One Piece Harness (fitted to the backplate)

Apeks WTX-D Single Cylinder Wing

Apeks designed this WTX-D Single Cylinder Wing with a narrow profile. Consequently, this narrow design allows the cylinder to nest deeply inside. Choose from the WTX-D30 or WTX-D40.

These streamlined single-cylinder wings ensure stability underwater. Indeed, their continuous loop shape accomplishes this stability. Moreover, this shape prevents any dramatic air shift from left to right.

Furthermore, these wings integrate with the Apeks WTX collection. For example, this collection provides high-quality harnesses, backplates, and accessories. Subsequently, divers configure these wings in multiple ways. Ultimately, this configuration matches their specific diving needs.

Finally, Apeks makes the WTX-D Single Cylinder Wings, like the rest of the WTX collection, with the finest and toughest materials.

Apeks Harness

This strong, simple Apeks Deluxe One-Piece Webbed Harness readily supports a fully rigged technical diver. Moreover, you can easily customize it. Use your preferred hardware for a personalized fit. This harness is designed for comfort and performance.

Firstly, this harness includes 2-inch stiff webbing. It also has a center grommet for added strength. Secondly, a 2” wide crotch strap ensures a secure and comfortable fit. These features provide excellent support.

Furthermore, six stainless 2” D-rings offer ample attachment points. For additional comfort, two neoprene shoulder protectors are included. Additionally, two elastic retaining loops reside on the shoulders. Finally, one more loop is located on the crotch strap.

Subsequently, a heavy-duty stainless waist buckle ensures secure closure. Lastly, six stainless serrated retainers complete the kit. This harness is built for durability and reliability.

Apeks Backplate

The Apeks Backplate comes in either lightweight aluminium or rugged stainless steel. Four upper and four lower slots are included. These slots accommodate nylon cylinder cam bands. Consequently, these bands secure a single cylinder directly to the plate. Additionally, four more slots provide lateral cylinder stability. This enhanced stability, therefore, surpasses traditional two-slot plates.

Moreover, three top holes facilitate wing and cylinder height adjustments. A corresponding lower center slot, in addition, accommodates misaligned lower band bolts. Furthermore, upper and lower perimeter holes allow accessory mounting. Finally, holes along the bottom provide even more mounting options. A 2" wide crotch strap slot completes the design.

Aluminum Backplate
This backplate uses 6061 aluminium. It weighs approximately 753g.

Stainless Steel Backplate
This backplate uses 316 stainless steel. It weighs approximately 2.2 kg.
