A complete BtS Drysuit Inflation Set including 6cf (0.85L) Aluminium Cylinder, BtS Suit Inflation Mounting Straps and First Stage with built-in Over Pressure Relief Valve. All ready to go - just add a drysuit hose.
Suit Inflation Cylinder
The aluminium 6cf (0.85L) Drysuit Inflation Cylinder in black is popularly used with air as an alternative suit inflation method and sometimes with argon. It is an ideal size for any twinset diver.
- Cylinder make: Luxfer
- Working pressure: 200 bar
- Weight (empty): 1.2 kg
- Height (without valve): 28.5cm
- Diameter: 8cm
- BtS M18 valve
BtS Suit Inflation Mounting Strap
A set of two BtS Suit Inflation Mounting Straps for drysuit inflation cylinders perfectly secure a suit inflation cylinder to your backplate. The steel book screws mount a drysuit inflation cylinder to the holes on the side of the backplate. The friction pad prevents the cylinder from sliding accidentally.
First Stage
The included piston first stage with a built-in over-pressure relief valve (OPV) is reliable and compact, ideal for a purpose.
- Built-in OPV set to 12-14 bar
- Two LP ports (one used for OPV)
- One high-pressure port
Recommended practice for suit inflation cylinder
- Never allow the suit inflation cylinder to fully empty underwater
- Storing cylinders with at least 2 bar of pressure in them
- Keeping/transporting any empty cylinder with the valve closed
- Drying and capping valves when the regulator is not attached
- Periodic check against moisture/water buildup in the cylinder
Do suit inflation cylinders need testing?
Cylinders that may, during normal use, lose all gas pressure above ambient when underwater, such as side-mount, bail-out, marker buoy, buoyancy compensator, and suit inflation cylinders are at a greater risk of water ingress and internal corrosion when empty.
If freshwater is present in a cylinder, this can mean the loss of more than 2mm of the thickness of the cylinder wall within 6 months. This is increased to more than 5mm in salt water. (Diving cylinder walls are generally between 2 and 5mm thick).
While testing of the diving cylinder remains at 2.5 years for an internal visual and 5 years for a full hydrostatic test in the UK, a more frequent visual inspection by a certified test centre for suit inflation cylinders is recommended.
Deliveries outside the UK
Due to aviation regulations, the cylinder and valve will be shipped disassembled. It will be the customer’s responsibility to have the cylinder and valve re-assembled.
